I am happy to arrange the shuttles from the airport to Chamonix for you. We work with a company called Mountain Drop-offs who provide a reliable door-to-door service. Once I have everyone’s flight information I can look at what is required re shuttles and confirm details/price.   It is a 4 hour train journey from Zermatt to Geneva and so if you wanted to leave on Monday morning you would need to take either the 0539 train which gets to GVA airport at 0933 or the 0613 train which arrives at 1013. The trains are very reliable but you may find it easier and more relaxing to travel back to the airport on Sunday afternoon and stay in one of the airport hotels. There is a holiday inn express within ½ mile of the airport and they provide a free shuttle service to/from the airport.   You also asked the question about aluminum vs steel crampons and the recommendation is aluminum!   Best regards Chris   Chris Parks

Thanks so much for arranging the accomodation in Chamonix.   Kary/Leif- Are you on the same flight from Frankfurt to Geneva? If so would be great for all three of us to be on the same shuttle from Geneva airport to Chamonix. Not sure if you are arranging the shuttle for us Chris?   Since my flight from Geneva takes off at 11:45 on Monday morning I assume that I could get from Zermatt to Geneva on Monday morning, wouldn’t you expect? If so, than think that accomodation in Zermatt for Saturday and Sunday nights would be great (plus Friday if we finish early). Jill/Jonathan- I know we are splitting accomodation in Chamonix…shall we try for Zermatt as well?   Looking forward to a fantastic adventure!   Cheers, Susan
